Navin’s BBQ
Goodness gracious! Please excuse our colloquial expression, it's just that you startled us, but yes, we have been expecting you here, for our 54th episode of #CarryoutComedy, so let's get going. We needed to add another barbecue restaurant to our repertoire, so we decided to try Navin's BBQ in Tower Grove on Arsenal St. (aka where we thought Arsenal F.C. played growing up); first of all, we navigated to their website to place our order, and went with The Lou sandwich (sliced pork steak, provel cheese, Navin's Sweet St. Louis Sauce, and Red Hot Riplet Chips), a ¼ lb of brisket burnt ends, and a Texas Twinkie (bacon wrapped jalapeño, stuffed with brisket and cream cheese). We drove there to pick it up, walked in, saw a sign that said “to go” with an arrow pointing to the right of the counter, followed it, quickly found out the arrow was decorative, slunk back to the end of the line, and reallllly hoped that no one noticed (that is though, how we noticed the Steve Martin photo, so we had that going for us, which was nice). The food was stellar and def worth the journey, even the extra parts, but don't just take our word(s) for it, go try for yourself. Peace!
