BB’s Jazz Blues & Soups
Hi diddly-ho, neighbors! We appreciate you sticking with us, on this beautiful August evening in St. Louis (sorry, gotta pause for a sec, because we've never said that and actually meant it before. Feels nice... Ok that's enough), for yet another rendition of #CarryoutComedy. This week we were craving some live music and soul food, so we decided to visit a long-time St. Louis establishment where it's hard to do better on both of those accounts, BB's Jazz Blues and Soups (don't let the name fool you, they have a really deep menu, including some great bbq, but we'll get to that in a bit!). Located on South Broadway, walking distance from Busch Stadium, it's the perfect game day stop to or from the ballpark (if you're parked on that side, anyways. If not, tough tooties, looks like you're taking the scenic route today, pal!). Sorry, not sure what got into us there, but for our order we got into a cup of gumbo, and a catfish po'boy with fries, along with a 4 Hands City Wide to sip on while being served a hefty helping of sweet, smooth, St. Louis blues during our wait. The food was stellar, of course, we just wish we could've stayed for the whole show; alas, we didn't pay cover, and as they say in blues, “how's a poor man going to make it, when money's the name of the game?” We'll be back for a full show soon (they get a ton of great local and national acts), and to get some of that bbq we talked about earlier. Peace!
