La Pizza

What's crackin'? We are back for episode 37 of #CarryoutComedy, our flagship food review segment that is still, somehow chugging along here. This week we were craving some 'za, so we had to go to La, as in La Pizza on Delmar Blvd (there's a slogan there we swear!). We called in our order, and by instinct mentioned that it was for carryout; we were told politely, but promptly, “that's good to hear, because carryout is all we're doing right now” (this is real, authentic New York pizza, guys). Anyways, we went with a Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza, sounds simple, was anything but, we'll explain. The sausages are shaped like discs, very much like pepperoni, but thinner, like a minced, seasoned, Italian meat frisbee. You can tell that this place takes the whole process of pizza making seriously, and it really shows in the end product (the SPACE is cool, too. Something about pizza from a place with checkerboard floors hits different). It's crazy that it's taken us this long to make it out to La Pizza for the first time, but it won't take us long to make it back again. Thanks for a great pie! Peace!
