Strange Donuts
Sup? Thanks for joining us for our 17th episode of #CarryoutComedy! It had been a while since we reviewed a breakfast place, so this week we decided to have a strange encounter of the donut-kind at Strange Donuts (disclaimer: donuts can and should be consumed during all hours of the day, do not feel restricted to breakfast). We began our journey at 107 E Argonne Drive, their Downtown Kirkwood location. For our order we went with 4 dounts: (1) Rainbow Pony (classic!), (1) Maple Bacon, (1) Gooey Butter Cake, and (1) Green Hawaiian Punch. Out of the 4, it was our first time trying the Green Hawaiian Punch, so we will focus our attention there, as it was by far the StRaNgEsT of the bunch. Starting at the top, you're looking at a solid layer of green sugar crystal frosting, that along with the dough, is the only line of defense between you and the punch flavored filling. Tbh, the punch filling was a bit of an acquired taste, but it didn't take longer than a couple of seconds to acquire; we detected kiwi and lime flavors, just like the drink! The rest of the donuts were phenomenal as always, 10/10, but we've already had all of them multiple times, so we hope you don't mind if we... glaze over the details? Anyways, the whole carry-out process was as quick and easy as always, so def make a trip to Strange Donuts and enjoy a golfer's favorite food (because there's always a hole in one). Peace!
